March 2024 Newsletter

Right here, right now, we are witnessing how a changing climate is impacting our province. Greens have a plan to protect our infrastructure from a changing climate. With a provincial election only months away, now is the time to get involved to help elect a Greener government.

Participatory democracy is one of the Green Party’s core principles, and we strive to put those principles into action. We believe that New Brunswickers must have meaningful opportunities to participate in the decisions that affect their lives. You can participate by joining your local RDA (Registered District Association), volunteering on an election campaign, or running for office as a candidate to represent your riding in the Legislature.

Another way that you can get involved is by serving a term on the Provincial Council of the Green Party of New Brunswick. The Provincial Council is where elected members of the Green Party of New Brunswick come together every month to make decisions about the direction and governance of our party. We encourage members to run for one of the vacant seats on the Provincial Council so that you can be a part of those decisions.

Provincial Council nominations will close on March 23, 2024. If you are interested, contact [email protected] today to get started.

Also, if you are a member, be sure to register for our 2024 Annual General Meeting where we will announce the winners of Provincial Council elections, celebrate our successes over the last year, and discuss our strategic goals and priorities for the upcoming election.

Staff Appreciation Spotlight

Myriam Cormier

Myriam Cormier has been an integral part of our team at the Green Party of New Brunswick. Last year, Myriam took on the francophone regional mobilizer position to help set up RDAs, recruit new members, and volunteers, and strengthen the grassroots foundation of our party.

In addition to being a valuable member of our staff, Myriam stepped up to be the candidate for Restigouche West last October when Premier Higgs threatened to call a snap election. Since then, Myriam has been out doorknocking and talking with voters, going above and beyond her role as a regional mobilizer.

In order to focus on her masters thesis at Université de Moncton, Myriam is stepping down as regional mobilizer, but will continue as the Green candidate for Restigouche West. We owe Myriam a huge thank you for all her hard work and wish her all the best in her studies and election campaign. Merci, Myriam!

Get Involved

Thank you to the many people who have applied to be candidates, renewed their memberships, donated, and signed up to volunteer over the last several months. We appreciate your support!

Another easy way that you can help is by learning about the work of our Green MLAs, Kevin Arseneau, Megan Mitton, and Green Leader David Coon, so that you can tell your friends and family what Greens stand for. Start by going to the website for the Office of the Green Party Caucus.

Sharing our news articles and social media content on your own social media is a great way to get the Green message out.
