About Susan Jonah

Susan has lived in New Brunswick her whole life.  From Hillsborough, she went to UNB in 1975, followed by the Maritime Ranger School. Susan worked as a Forest Ranger with the Dept of Natural Resources for 27 years.

She has lived both in New Maryland and Hanwell and has been involved in the Hanwell community for many years. First she was involved with the Hanwell LSD (Local Service District) and the steering committee that established the Rural Community of Hanwell.  She has served for 3 terms as a Councilor and is the Deputy Mayor of Hanwell.  She is also currently the Chair of the Planning and Review Committee at Capital Region Service Commission and sits on the Economic Expansion Committee for the CRSC  and is on the Board of the NB Union of Municipalities.  She is also the Unit Chair for Atlantic Canada with Local 1976 of the United Steelworkers.

Susan is very excited about the new riding of Hanwell-New Maryland.  The Councils of Hanwell and New Maryland have formed a great working relationship, and she looks forward to working with everyone in the whole riding to bring every opportunity to the area.

She believes that we must continue to look at the qualifications of every candidate, rather than simply following traditional party lines.  The last few years have been quite an eye opener. We can do better!
