About Jacques Giguère

A resident of Dieppe for 30 years, Jacques Giguère has now lived in the Memramcook region for 3 years. He understands the environmental, economic and social challenges facing this beautiful region.

With more than 30 years in the news media at Radio-Canada, Jacques Giguère was, among other things, a journalist-producer for the national program La Semaine verte  (The Green Week) for ten years.

Jacques Giguère sits on the Board of Directors of Maison Nazareth, a service and resource center for the rehabilitation of homeless people in Greater Moncton. He is also a lecturer in information-communication at the Université de Moncton.

He believes more than ever in the importance of implementing concrete initiatives and actions to significantly reduce CO2 emissions in the province. This is something only the NB Green Party is seriously committed to doing.

Jacques was born in the small town of Ste-Marie in the Beauce region of Quebec, near the famous Vachon patisserie. His childhood was similar to that of any young person of that period.

After completing high school at the local polyvalente, he graduated from Collège Montmorency with a diploma in film studies.

He chose the Université de Moncton to complete his post-graduate studies. Today, he holds a Baccalauréat És Arts with a major in Information-Communication and a minor in Political Science, as well as a Master's degree in Environmental Studies from the Université de Moncton.
