2025 AGM Notice
Posted on News & Events by Genevieve MacRae · February 26, 2025 9:07 AMHello Members!
We are pleased to officially invite you to the Green Party of New Brunswick's 2025 Annual General Meeting, which will take place on May 31st in Tracadie, NB. The AGM Planning Committee has started to work on an agenda for the event and we think it will be worth it for you to join us in person, but if you are unable to do so, the business portion of the meeting will be held in a hybrid format to allow you to attend virtually from anywhere in the province.
The tentative schedule of events starts at 11am on Saturday, May 31st and ends at noon on Sunday, June 1 with the business meeting taking place mid-afternoon on the Saturday. Tentative other events to be held include a policy roundtable discussion, an RDA Executives meeting, a social event and a tour in the Tracadie area.
The AGM will be held at Deux Rivières Resort (www.deuxrivieres.ca) in Tracadie. The resort has a conference centre with meeting rooms as well as hotel rooms and cottages on the water. Room rates range from $123 to $173 per night, and we strongly recommend booking your stay by the end of March to secure your accommodation.
This year, several positions on the Provincial Council are up for election, and we encourage you to consider running for one of the following roles:
- President (2 year term)
- VP Francophone (2 year term)
- VP Anglophone (1 year remaining on a 2 year term)
- Secretary (2 year term)
- 2x Capital Region Regional Councillor (2 year term)
- 2x North Region Regional Councillor (2 year term)
- 1x South-East Regional Councillor (1 year remaining on a 2 term)
- Policy Working Group Chair or Co-Chairs (1 year term)
If you wish to be considered for a position on the Provincial Council, please submit your nomination by April 30, 2025, to [email protected]. Voting will be conducted online before the AGM.
Any suggested amendments or resolutions to the constitution or by-laws must be submitted to the party office by March 10th so they can be forwarded to the membership by March 15th.
To be eligible to vote on matters at the AGM, please ensure your membership is in good standing before the start of the business meeting.
We hope to see you in person at the AGM in Tracadie on May 31st! Further details and registration will be posted on the website as the event approaches.
Sincerely,
The AGM Planning Committee
(Burt Folkins, Ryan Spencer, Janice Harvey, Monica Martin & Genevieve MacRae)
