About Rhonda Connell
Rhonda grew up in Woodstock NB overlooking the beautiful Wolastoq River. She received a Bachelor of Science from Acadia University, studied Photography in Ontario, and returned to NB to complete a Masters in Education Counselling at UNB. She has been an educator for the past 30+ years running an Academic enrichment program in Fredericton.
Returning to NB, she realized her love for the trees and forest and the friendly nature of our culture. She resides part-time in Shepody, delighting in the natural beauty around her as well as enjoying the diverse and resourceful community. She looks forward to retiring in Albert County.
As an activist, Rhonda has been involved in many organizations: Fair Vote Canada, Council of Canadians, Women’s March Canada, and Women in Politics Fredericton. Her involvement and activities with the Green Party have been ongoing since its beginnings in NB both provincially and federally.
Rhonda is a passionate supporter of social justice, action on climate change, equality, and nonviolence. She particularly values the fabric of our rural communities, and the connections they foster. For her, this highlights the importance of ensuring healthy communities through secure access to healthcare and education, protection of the natural environment, and local self sufficiency.
She appreciates and celebrates the strength, wisdom, and heart of New Brunswickers!
