Sign for a Permanent Rent Cap
A Green government will establish a permanent rent cap for tenants and reform the property tax system to be fairer for homeowners.
Premier Higgs has abandoned renters, many with low incomes who cannot afford the rent increases we have seen in recent years. Rent increase is the main driver of inflation in New Brunswick.
Green Party leader David Coon first proposed a rent cap for New Brunswick in 2018. Premier Higgs rejected it, putting profits over people.
Greens will stand up to the big corporate landlord lobby and ensure that affordable housing is treated as a human right.
In the words of David Coon: “There are New Brunswickers who have literally been forced onto the streets because they can’t afford these rent increases. This could have been avoided if the Premier was not so vehemently opposed to a permanent rent cap.”
If you agree with David, sign this petition and join us in pursuing policies to secure affordable housing for every resident of our province. Together, we can make the change our province deserves.
