    ROGERSVILLE – This morning Green Party leader David Coon and Deputy Leader Kevin Arseneau announced the Green Party’s plan to reduce the small business tax rate from 2.5 percent to 1 percent, just as it is in Prince Edward Island. It would also raise the income threshold at which the higher corporate tax rate kicks in from $500,000 to $700,000.

    FREDERICTON - This morning Green Party leader David Coon committed that a Green government will create a Universal School Food breakfast and lunch program.

    “All too often I have heard stories about teachers who have spent their own money to ensure students in their classes don’t go hungry,” said Coon. “While this is commendable, we need a proper province-wide school breakfast and lunch program in place to ensure that teachers can focus on what they do best, teaching, and students can focus on learning.”

  • Green Party Will Establish the Right to a Healthy Environment in Law

    SAINT JOHN - This morning in the shadow of the AIM scrapyard in Saint John, Green Party leader David Coon announced that a Green government would create legislation guaranteeing New Brunswickers the right to a healthy environment. In doing so, Coon re-committed to a bill that he tabled in the Legislature in December 2023.

    “Over the years we have seen government after government cover up environmental contamination to the  detriment of the health of New Brunswickers,” exclaimed Coon. “The Liberal team went as far as to fire our Chief Medical Officer of Health, Eilish Cleary and broke up her team when she investigated glyphosate and its impacts on the heath of New Brunswickers.”

  • Green Party Announces Plan to Protect New Brunswickers from Effects of Climate Change

    FREDERICTON – This morning, on the first Seniors Day of Climate Action in Canada, Green Party Leader David Coon announced his plan to protect New Brunswick communities from the ravages of the rapidly changing climate.

    “We are now in a climate emergency, but Liberal government after Conservative  government, after Liberal government, has failed to prepare and protect New Brunswickers and their property from its consequences,” said Coon. “Mr. Higgs has followed in Brian Gallant’s footsteps of being a climate delayer. The plan to make New Brunswick climate ready won’t even be completed until 2026.”
