Communications Coordinator (Bilingual – English/French)

The Green Party of New Brunswick is seeking a bilingual Communications Coordinator to support the party’s communications work at the provincial level. This is a full-time, term position based in Fredericton, offering flexible hybrid work options, with potential to support caucus communications as required and within applicable guidelines.

This is a term position from June 1 to December 20, with the possibility of extension depending on funding and organizational needs.

You are a skilled bilingual communicator who follows New Brunswick’s political and public affairs closely in both official languages.

You are a strong writer and editor who can produce clear, engaging, and timely content under pressure across multiple platforms.

You are comfortable working in a fast-paced, reactive environment where priorities can shift quickly, and you are able to balance short-term deadlines with longer-term strategic communications goals.

You are a strategic thinker who can connect messaging and communications planning to broader organizational objectives.

You are curious, resourceful, and able to anticipate issues, identify communications opportunities, and respond effectively.

You thrive in a grassroots, volunteer-driven environment, where building relationships and working collaboratively with a wide range of people is central to success.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop, write, edit, and distribute communications materials in English and French across digital and traditional platforms
  • Monitor political and media developments and identify communications opportunities and risks
  • Support the development and execution of communications strategies and messaging plans
  • Build and maintain relationships with media and assist in coordinating press events and media outreach
  • Provide communications advice and support to party leadership and elected representatives
  • Prepare briefing materials, messaging documents, and background notes as required
  • Manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment

Qualifications

  • Excellent written and spoken English and French
  • Demonstrated experience in communications, media, public affairs, or a related field
  • Strong writing, editing, and content production skills in both official languages
  • Experience working with media relations and/or press coordination
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small team
  • Strong judgment, discretion, and attention to detail
  • Experience developing or supporting communications strategies is an asset
  • Familiarity with New Brunswick’s political landscape is an asset

Additional details

  • Location: Fredericton-based, with flexible hybrid work options.
  • Full-time (preferred), with flexibility to consider part-time for the right candidate
  • Term position (June 1 – December 20), with the possibility of extension
  • Salary: $60,000–$70,000 annually (commensurate with experience, pro-rated for term)
  • Three weeks paid vacation annually (pro-rated)
