Chantal Landry will represent the Green Party in the Dieppe by-election

Dieppe - The Green Party of New Brunswick is pleased to announce that Chantal Landry will be their candidate for the Dieppe riding in the upcoming by-election.

“I am thrilled to have Chantal running to represent the people of Dieppe,” said Green Party of New Brunswick Leader David Coon. “I know she is passionate about her community, and will work hard to serve all of her constituents if elected.”

Chantal Landry is the second woman to be confirmed as a Green candidate for the 2023 by-elections, joining Rachel Boudreau who is running in the riding of Restigouche-Chaleur.

Chantal has lived in Dieppe since 1995. As a young adult, she developed leadership skills and a passion for helping others while in the Katimavik program. After graduating from NBCC as a Youth Care Worker, she worked for several non-profits, serving youth, women, families and individuals seeking help and resources to overcome challenges in their lives. Years later, as a single mother and a mature student, she graduated with a BA in Organizational Management. She then became the Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity Moncton and later went back to NBCC as an instructor.

Chantal believes that business and community-building go hand-in-hand, and that good business should create opportunities that positively impact people’s lives and unlock New Brunswick’s untapped potential.

“I am running for MLA because I want to work on meaningful solutions to societal issues,” Chantal said. “I chose the Green Party of New Brunswick because they have the ideas and forward-looking vision to overcome the problems our communities are facing. The principles of the Green Party, especially responsible governance, are what I stand for, and what New Brunswick needs right now. I see a real role for our local business community to create opportunities that positively impact people’s lives and build on the momentum we see in Dieppe,” she said.

Chantal Landry will be joined by the party’s leader, David Coon and Green MLAs Megan Mitton, and Kevin Arseneau, for an event to launch her by-election campaign this Friday. The event will be held at Parc Rotary St-Anselme on 505 Melanson Road starting at 7:30pm on March 31.
