Green Party of New Brunswick launches 10 YEARS STRONG : A celebration of David Coon’s leadership

Fredericton - The Green Party of New Brunswick is thrilled to be celebrating ten years with David Coon leading the party.

“David has been a visionary leader for Greens in New Brunswick, as well as across the country,” says party president Nicolas Jelic. “His steady character, his caring and compassionate personality, and his ability to bring out the best in people have been critical to the growth of NB Greens this past decade.  As a party, we are excited for where David’s vision will take us in 2024 and beyond.”

Coon was first elected into the position in September 2012.  He went on to make history in September 2014 by becoming the second Green to be elected anywhere in Canada.  He has been re-elected twice in 2018 and 2020, both times with over 50% of the popular vote in his riding of Fredericton-South.  Coon now leads a caucus of three since the 2018 election, when MLAs Megan Mitton of Memramcook-Tantramar and Kevin Arseneau of Kent North first won their seats.

“I am humbled by the continued support of New Brunswickers and I am grateful that so many people continue to share the Green vision for New Brunswick,” says Coon.  “As a party, we continue to grow stronger because everyone matters to us, because voters see their values reflected in ours, because we put the work in to bring real solutions forward, while holding the Premier and his cabinet’s feet to the fire.”

The 10 YEARS STRONG kick off celebration will take place on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at Killarney Lake Rotary Centennial Lodge in Fredericton.  A provincial tour with 10 stops will follow throughout the month of September.  All details are available at www.greenpartynb.ca
